My family enjoyed visiting with relatives we don’t get to see often and exploring places we’ve never been. There is a lot happening at Arroyo between now and the end of the school year. Please keep a close eye on our newsletter for dates of fun events and important deadlines. Spring is also filled with assessments, including state and district testing. Please do your best to ensure regular school attendance. Please mark your calendars for the evening of Tuesday, May 23, for our Central/Arroyo Celebration of Learning. We are excited to invite families to campus to showcase the hard work our students have done throughout the year. More details to come as the celebration gets closer — be sure to save the date! That Friday, May 26, will be a minimum day, with dismissal at 12:50. Also save May 20 for the San Carlos Hometown Days Parade. There are a few ways Arroyo students can participate. 5th graders in band have already received information from Mrs. Green about joining the marching band group. This year we will also have our first ever Arroyo group participating in the parade, thanks to PTA volunteers who have signed up to coordinate it. Keep an eye on the PTA section of the Eagle Eye for details. If you’ve never participated in Hometown Days (May 19-21), it’s a great chance to celebrate the San Carlos community. We are in need of a few more lunchtime volunteers to help supervise student-led clubs and a few other things this spring. If you’re available to help from 12:00-12:40 any day of the week, either weekly or biweekly, please email me at [email protected]. If you haven’t done so already, now is the time to order an Arroyo yearbook for your child. Yearbooks are distributed the last week of school, and extra copies will not be available on campus, so be sure to order by April 30 if your child would like one. We’re also looking for student artwork and photos to include in the yearbook. See the PTA section below for details. Please remember to use the covid tests we sent home before break to ensure a healthy return to school for everyone. I’m looking forward to seeing students tomorrow and hearing about how they spent their time over break.
