There are important Art in Action roles we are hoping to fill immediately: Class Coordinators and Docents. Class Coordinators partner with the AiA lead and work on the organization behind the scenes. Docents lead lively discussions about artwork done by great artists and civilizations to enhance students’ appreciation of art and its history. Please check out your classroom’s sign-up at the link above and consider volunteering for one of these key roles.
Gather your friends and family for a cleanup event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Arroyo, part of the San Carlos Day of Service. We will be gardening, painting, picking up trash and power-washing the school so that we can all enjoy a beautiful campus. Sign up to choose a task at the link above.
The school urgently needs parents to volunteer at school pickup. The slots are 15 minutes long. Bonus: You get to wear a vest and use a walkie-talkie! 🦺 If you regularly pick up your child from school and can spare 15 minutes (3:05-3:20 p.m., 12:45-1:00 on Wednesdays), please sign up by clicking the link above.
Joining the PTA supports local, state, and national PTA advocacy efforts. Our goal is for all parents to become individual members. Grandparents and students can easily be added as members too. Check out the Membership and Fundraising page to learn how to make a difference.

If your child has done something special out in the community — won an award or competition, published a piece of writing, displayed an art project, got selected for a special honor, has a special cultural celebration to share with our school, etc. — we'd love to hear about it and share it with our community during our weekly assemblies. Click the link above to tell us the details via the Arroyo Spotlight form .
Volunteers are needed to help with drop-off and pickup daily. We also need parent volunteers to help supervise our student-led clubs and other special activities during lunchtime. Ideally this would be a year-long commitment at least one day a week with a regular schedule. Our PTA also has many ways to be involved both in classrooms and at school-wide events.
